OUTERWEAR

 

White or yellow hooded sweatshirts embroidered with Crossroads Charter High School logo are available for sale and can

 be worn over uniforms shirts.

Coats, Sweaters, etc. must have a zippered or open front so the Crossroads uniform shirt can be easily seen. 

 

Shirts    ----- must be tucked in at all times and clean!

 

 All Students must wear a White or Yellow golf shirt (short or long sleeve), sweatshirt, or pullover embroidered

withCrossroads Charter High School logo. All uniform tops must be purchased from Crossroads Charter High School.

 

T-Shirts, crew-neck apparel, or pullovers that cannot be unzipped will not be allowed over uniform tops.

 

Long sleeve shirts will only be allowed under a short sleeve uniform shirt if the long sleeve shirt is the same color of

the uniform. (Example: long sleeve white shirt under white uniform shirt.)

 

Any t-shirts worn underneath CCHS uniform shirts must be white,  gray, or khaki.  There will be no exceptions to these

colors. (No red, blue, black, or green.  These colors often reflect gang affiliation.) 

 

BOTTOMS - PANTS AND SHORTS ARE TO BE WORN AT THE WAIST

Khaki

NO Sweatpants or fleece material.

 

NO tight or form fitting pants or skirts will be allowed.

 

All shorts and/or skirts are to be worn AT THE KNEE.

 

BELTS

Are to be worn DAILY

 

JEWELRY

Post earrings, watches and necklaces only. (All necklaces should be worn inside of clothes) 

 

NO large dangling earrings or necklaces.

 

Contact Lens MUST BE of natural colors.  NO white, cat eyes etc. will be allowed.

 

Only dentist applied caps or crowns are allowed on teeth.  Dentist notes will be required. No gold or silver front

or lower griles. 

 

HAIR

All hair is to be neatly groomed including Afros, locks and braids. Students (boys or girls) will not be allowed to have

hair partially braided. 

 

NO headbands, headscarfs or “do-rags” are allowed. (This applies to boys and girls)

 

HATS

Hats, baseball style caps, wave caps/cloth, or bandanas are NOT to be worn in school.   This includes the hoods on

“pullovers”, earmuffs and toboggans.

 

Kemars or wraps, hijabs, pashminas, face veils and kufi hats will be allowed for students with proof of religious affiliation.  

 

Any colored bandanas, or gang related “flags”, worn at all on the property may be grounds for suspension and

even expulsion.  We have a zero tolerance for gang activity.

 

SHOES

At present no rules exist related to shoes, except that bedroom shoes, clogs, flip flops or any shoes without a back are not permitted.  We reserve the right

to address concerns related to individuals and their shoes.  This is especially the case if a particular kind or style of

 shoe becomes a problem. 

 

We are not responsible for shoes lost, stolen, traded, damaged, etc.  For this reason, expensive or hard-to-get shoes

are discouraged.

 

BOOKBAGS

 NO book bags, or any style back-pack large enough to contain a composition book (8 ½ “x 11”), may enter the school.  This includes the smaller book bags with a single back strap. 

 

Pocketbooks and/or lunch bags must not be large enough to carry books or have an 8 ½ “x 11” composition book fit inside of it. 

 

Gym clothes for P.E. class, work uniforms for after school, or sports gear must be brought to school in see-through vinyl or mesh bags that are stored in designated locations.  These bags absolutely cannot be taken from class to class!  See through mesh bags are available at a nominal cost through our business office.  (Grocery store or Wal-Mart style plastic bags are also permitted.)  

 

Zippered loose-leaf notebooks seem to be the item of choice with our students who want to carry and keep up with their school supplies.

EXPECTED OF EVERY STUDENT:
Students are expected to follow the Code of Conduct.
All students, parents/guardians must read, sign and turn in a copy of the signed document and adhere to these guidelines.
Should you have questions concerning any of the rules listed you should immediately contact an administrator for a complete explanation.

ALL STUDENTS WILL:
Attend school and class every day (Rule 1)
Dress appropriately by following the dress code (Rule 4)
Do as instructed by teachers and staff (Rules 7-10)
Allow school officials to conduct reasonable searches (Rule 31)
Use the computer and the Internet for official school activity only (Rule 33)

ALL STUDENTS MUST AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
No food/beverages are to be consumed except in the dining hall. (Rule 2)
No medication unless authorized and supervised by the school (Rule 3)
No toys, CD’s, tape recorders, cell phones, beepers, pagers, lighters, matches, excess money [bring only enough money for lunch or supplies] (Rule 5)
No selling any items or services on campus unless authorized by the School Administrator. (Rule 5)
No lying, cheating, forgery or false information (Rule 6)
No talking back to staff or adults, refusing to comply with reasonable requests or walking away (Rule 7 & 8)
No profanity, cursing, offensive racial, gang, or obscene speech, gestures or written materials (Rule 9)
No disruption of class: chronic talking, throwing objects, horseplaying, teasing, refusing to remain seated, leaving without permission, chronic lack of supplies or repeated violations (Rule 10)
Do Not come on campus without proper permission or go in any classroom during a suspension (Rule 14)
Do Not drive recklessly on school grounds or operate skate-boards, roller blades etc. without proper permission
Do Not damage school, staff, or other student’s property. (Rule 16)
No gambling (Rule 17)
Do Not set fire or try to set fire to anything, this includes striking matches and flicking lighters (Rule 25)
Do Not steal anything (Rule 18)
Do Not break into the school with or without intent to steal or vandalize (Rule 21)
Do Not take anything from anyone by force or through intimidation (Rule 18)
Do Not have pornographic pictures, gang material, music or written material that would not be acceptable at school (Rule 30&34)
Do Not make, use, spend or give counterfeit money to anyone (Rule 35)
Do Not participate in ANY gang related activity (Rule 30)
Do Not pull the fire alarm (Rule 24)
Do Not use the telephone to call 911 unless an emergency exists (Rule 24)
Do Not say to anyone that a bomb is at school unless the emergency exists (Rule 36)
Do Not hit, kick, spit, shove, fight, assault or threaten anyone (Rule 20&27)
Do Not take part in sexual activity, harass other student(s), “moon” or expose private body parts at anytime (Rule 19)
No alcohol, tobacco or drugs (Rule 26)
No weapons of any kind (Rule 28)
No guns, loaded or unloaded, toy or real (Rule 28 & 29)
